ELVA continues her search for Mr. Right

After her catchy first single, “Miss ELVA”, ELVA Hsiao releases the ballad, “錯的人 (Wrong Person)”, which is written by Kenji Wu (both song and lyrics), promising that it will be a KTV hit. Many fans have especially gone to Kenji’s blog to leave him comments, praising the song. Kenji thanks the fans for their support and expresses that there will be more great songs coming from his own album in October.

As reported previously, Kenji got the inspiration for writing the lyrics after having a chat with ELVA, who’s in search for Mr. Right. Kenji hopes to use this song to wish her happiness and be able to find the “right” person soon.

ELVA appeared at the event stylishly in a ten-million dollar (NT) Porsche.

At ELVA’s autographing and concert event on the 25th, she revealed to the media that she currently has five pursuers, “I’m quite surprised myself!” She says that in the past, she wasn’t very used to being pursued, but she “now enjoys this feeling”! But after remembering about her idol image, she quickly said that she is currently busy with promotional activities for her album.

Khalil Fong not allowed to sing for a month due to pneumothorax

Just earlier this month, Khalil Fong suddenly had a pneumothorax. Although it’s not so serious that he needs to go through surgery, the singer songwriter has been advised not to sing, ride on an airplane, or use too much force when going to the bathroom. However, his concert at Shanghai in November will still be on despite the doctor told him that it’s best for him to rest for 3 months.

His management company has helped him cancel all his other activities including commercials and performances, losing over a million dollars (NT). As for the concert in Shanghai, Khalil joked, “I signed a contract to hold a concert at Shanghai in November, I can’t cancel it. If I can’t take the airplane by then, (I’ll) just take the train and (I’ll) even be able to enjoy the scenery while riding it.”

Khalil’s popularity has been on the rise, attracting young listeners with his unique soul music. He originally planned 30 concerts spread across Asia and North America. But he suddenly had difficulty breathing and felt pain in his back area and arm while shopping earlier this month. After rushing to the hospital, he found out that it was pneumothorax.

The good news is that Khalil has been doing well, so he has resumed his work by going to the studio as usual to arrange music and help other singers record their albums. Khalil is expected to be able to recover his health in a month’s time.

Leehom "needs someone by his side" in new music video

If hip-hop Leehom isn’t your cup of tea, then fear not because there is yet another music video on the way. The new single “Need Someone By Your Side (需要人陪)” will feature Leehom Wang in bed! It’s no “Lust Caution” but the video promises to be the most provocative in his 14-year career. Apparently his record company is so concerned that they will only release an edited version for TV. The more intense director’s cut will be available on a DVD that comes with the repackaged version of “18 Martial Arts”.

Leehom has actually done a “bed scene” for a music video back in 2006. In “The First Morning (第一個清晨)”, he sat on one side of a bed with his guitar while then rumored girlfriend Shu Qi (舒淇) lay on the other. The closest they came was when Shu Qi sat up to watch him play and lipsync to the camera.

For the new single “Need Someone By Your Side”, Leehom found his inspiration through observing countless busy people in the city -- They are always preoccupied with work during the day but have no goal whatsoever. At night when they are alone, they especially feel the need of having someone by their side. He wrote its simple melody and lyrics to express the feeling of loneliness often experienced by single people.

In the music video, Leehom plays a busy office worker who reminisces over a past relationship. He sets aside his “quality idol” image to act in his first ever truly intimate scene, and said he hopes it will change people’s impression of him.

The commemorate edition of "18 Martial Arts" is now available for preorder from Yesasia. It comes with a DVD consists of music videos for "Firewood, Rice, Oil, Salt, Soy Sauce, Vinegar, Tea", "All The Things You Never Knew", "Bo Ya Cuts The Strings", "Beauty" and "Need Someone By Your Side".

Ariel Lin turns on the water works for newest MV

For her newest MV, You Have Me (你有我), Ariel Lin was asked to act out a 10 minute parting scene with her boyfriend. Though she had been laughing and chatting with the male lead, as soon as the filming started, her tears also started pouring out, and lasted for the entire ten minutes.

Even the male lead was affected by her mood, ending up, also, with red eyes. When Ariel was questioned about whether she was thinking about an old flame or something sorrowful that had happened before, she denied it and said it was all due to her "imagination." When she thinks about how love is actually frail despite being beautiful, her heart is moved and brings forth a whirlwind of tears. When the director called cut, she continued to cry bitterly while holding onto the makeup artist. This young queen of acting has certainly put her heart into this new MV about the sad story of a pair of lovers.

Will Pan regrets posing nude for commercial during youth

Reflecting back to his youthful past, the now 30 year old Taiwanese singer/actor Will Pan probably wishes he could turn back the hands of time. Back when the famous entertainer was starting out in the industry at the age of 19, Will took part in a drink advertisement that involved him being filmed in the nude, with nothing but a strategically placed object to cover little Will. With a pay of NT$15,000 (US$472) coming off his commercial shoot, it pales immensely to his current worth of millions of dollars.

After taking part in the risque advertisement, Will vowed never to show off his skin so easily ever again. And even though the singer/actor has given female audiences glimpses of his pleasing upper body in idol dramas "Miss No Good" and "Endless Love", Will has done so without revealing his nipples. Even close-up shots of his bare legs are attributed to the director's. The reason for Will's more conservative take is so that he does not risk his lucrative endorsements, playing it safe to the point where he does not even do photobooks. That is also why Will Pan demanded that clothes stay on during his bed scene with Nemi Sumiya in "Endless Love", where the two actors shot the intimate scene under the covers of a blanket.

ELVA defends good friend Jolin Tsai on plane incident

Pre-orders of Taiwanese singer ELVA's latest album "Miss ELVA" has reached its tenth day, where pre-orders had already hit 4,000. The self-titled track for the album has also been on YouTube for six days, and views for that track's MV has surpassed 140,000. Since ELVA's latest album has surged in popularity, the singer originally wished to show her appreciation to the generous love of her fans by holding an album signing this weekend until it was canceled because of a typhoon.

ELVA grudingly wrote on her Weibo microblogging account, "Everyone's lucky that I'm the rain goddess. Whoever said I was 'Miss ELVA'? There's a lot of 'water (symbols)' in my (Chinese) name." Since the broadcast of her MV, there has been a lot of both positive and negative comments left online. ELVA responded by saying, "I am modestly accepting all of these types of comments."

Regarding a recent plane incident involving fellow Taiwanese singer Jolin Tsai, ELVA happened to be on the same flight as Jolin when Jolin was exposed to the media for her rude behavior by a flight attendant. More specifically, the flight attendant accused Jolin of the rude behavior that was given to her. In response, ELVA gave her side of the story to clear up the events that were reported by the flight attendant, since ELVA was together with Jolin on the flight. Due to Jolin's agent being busy at the time that Jolin was embarking on her flight, her agent entrusted Jolin to both ELVA and her agent. "Jolin clearly went to sleep once we boarded the plane," ELVA said. "What the flight attendant said about the rude behavior, it should have been about my agent!"

If you haven't kept up with the latest news from ELVA and Jolin, you can check out their latest MVs below.

Lala Hsu holds autographing and concert event

GMA’s best new artist Lala Hsu held her autographing and concert event for her latest album, “Limits”, just before the typhoon arrived. Her record company specially prepared a flight of stairs that was 1.8 meters high to wish the singer songwriter to continue to rise with success. The stairs were labeled (in ascending order): great sales, great critiques, great popularity, great inspiration (for song writing), and great luck for love. Lala climbed the staircase with ease, “After the training from filming my ‘Acrophobia’ MV, I’m not afraid of heights anymore.”

When Lala reached the highest step, she humorously began to introduce herself with a loudspeaker; the host laughed, “Are you trying to find yourself a match (date)?”

There have been rumors of Lala getting plastic surgery as her face looked a lot smaller on her album cover. To dissolve the rumor, she pointed at the billboard of herself and tried to imitate the same pose, “See! Isn’t it the same?” The fans immediately fell in laughter.

Check out Lala's "Acrophobia" MV where she climbed 7 meters of chairs (with wires)

Perhaps they got the inspiration for the MV after watching this episode of Diamond Club from August - two stuntmen competed to see who could stack and climb the highest amount of chairs.

Jimmy Lin celebrates his son's first birthday

Jimmy Lin celebrated his son Kimi’s first birthday on the 15th, and released their first photo together. They followed the tradition of having Kimi pick among several items in order to predict his future career path. Kimi picked (in order): a netbook, a steering wheel, and a microphone, which seemed quite characteristic of his father who’s a singer/actor as well as a professional race car driver. As a result, Jimmy decided to sign his son as a future star and expressed that he doesn’t mind filming commercials with his son together.

Jimmy admitted in October of last year that he indeed became a father already, which led to many disapprovals from fans and the media also reported that he had a child before marriage. He revealed that he and his wife Kelly Chen Ruo-Yi (陳若儀) have already registered their marriage in February of this year.

At barely 19 years of age, new cutie Taiwanese artist Shine Huang (real name: Huang Yu Xun 黃宇曛) has just released her self-titled album. Long an admirer of Taiwanese pop idol singer Jolin Tsai, the teenage artist quoted that she has admired Jolin "since she was little" and considers herself "her number one fan".

Shine and her older sister have fallen madly in love with their idol since she was in second grade of elementary school. Not only has she bought every one of Jolin's albums, but she has waited in line for each of Jolin's album signing events to shake hands with her idol and also memorized all of Jolin's dance moves such as the complex arm folding moves from Jolin's recent "Honey Trap" MV. Shine's biggest wish would be for Jolin to be part of the audience for her own dance performances.

Shine is also known for wanting to play mahjong and being obsessed with doing her nails like her pop idol, where the teenage artist also created her own patterened nail polish designs. The debut singer also made the statement, "If I become friends with Jolin Tsai by helping her in a game of mahjong, or help her on her nails fashion in exchange for her friendship, I'll definiteloy sleep happily for many days."

In addition to her year of training as an artist that includes ballet, locking, jazz, and hip-hop street dancing, Shine also has talents in playing the piano, flute, and other musical instruments. Ady An, the Ugly Duckling?

Ady An's on screen image has been fairly conservative. However, a few days ago, for a commercial for her newest movie, "If You Are The One 2," she revealed her curvaceous behind and her long, slender legs. It was extremely attractive, yet she laughed and revealed that she was once called an ugly duckling for her looks.

Despite having touched viewers hearts though her delicate and beautiful portrayal in Autumn's Concerto, awing viewers with her beauty in ancient costumes, and luring viewers with her sexy image in commercials, Ady An admitted that her charming self-confidence is only slowly being established. According to her, "My idol is Angelina Jolie because of her confidence with her pumped lips and sexy appeal." Because she had dark skin, thick lips, and a large bottom, Ady was frequently laughed at for being like the ugly duckling when she was younger. She often hid in the shadows during her younger years. Little did she know that pumped lips would become the style; That, without hyaluronan injections or bottom padding, she would have a stature that brings envy to others. To this she says smiling, "I can only say that it's a reversal of the wheel of fortune.'"

Ady was also on the cover of Fashion Queen's September issue:

Jolin Tsai Travels to Japan With New Beau

Seems Jolin Tsai is not lonely anymore. It's said she is currently in love with a male model Vivian Dawson, who is also the male lead in her "Love Player" MV, and the two even traveled to Japan together on September 12. A reader exposed Jolin took the morning flight to Tokyo on the 12th and purposely stayed away from Vivian (one in first class and the other in economy class). But they put their guard down once they arrived. Jolin felt safe to hold hands with Vivian the whole time.

Vivian is 24 year old (6 years younger than Jolin) and is a Singapore-New Zealand mix. He once worked in Melbourne as a fitness trainer and was the Mr. Singapore 2009.

Jolin returned home yesterday and her manager expressed Jolin and Vivian are friends, bt he didn't disclose whether the two are a couple. Management director of Vivian's model agency said: "He did go to Japan, maybe it was a coincidental encounter. He went there for work."

Nicholas Teo goes sleeveless and sockless for 4 Gifts

Nicholas Teo is set to return next week with his new drama 4 Gifts (女王不下班). Two years ago in Woody Sambo, he was apparently mocked for looking like a girly gigolo during his song & dance number. It’s been two years since then, so he will try to overturn that image with a new and improved body.

Since his character is a trendy designer, Nicholas Teo must appear in sleeveless shirts and sandals. He was hesitant at first because it was very different from his own style. He took on the challenge anyway and began building up his body. Although it doesn't look very impressive from the picture, he and costar Shiou Jieh Kai were said to have received praises for their c-cup chests.

4 Gifts also features a special guest appearance courtesy of Blue Lan. The P.S. Man plays a pimpy drug lord in his third collaboration with the production house. In their previous dramas, he always ends up falling into something – A mud pit in Easy Fortune Happy Life and a garbage dump in P.S. Man. Since he is partying by the pool this time around, it would only make sense that he falls into the water.

Blue Lan was recently rumored to be dating model and former One Million Star contestant Christine Chen (陳美里). His friend George Chang (張兆志), who also plays a cop in 4 Gifts, hinted they are indeed dating on a show several days ago. He said when “friends come out for dinner, and bring the same girl 3 out of 4 times, (you) can kind of figure out what’s going on.” Blue Lan’s manager said they were joking and the two are just friends.

Hebe covers Jolin Tsai’s “Dancing Diva” unplugged

Hebe received a "X" from her staff for talking too much about Ella...

Hebe Tien Fu Chen appeared on a recent episode of the popular talk show Kang Xi Lai Le. Although Hebe expressed that it feels a little more lonely without her group mates Ella and Selina, she enjoys being able to promote her solo album, presenting the style of music that she likes.

Hebe opened up and revealed to hosts Dee Hsu and Kevin Tsai that she has always been a very rational lover compared to her group mate Ella, “Ella would give everything she has to love someone no matter what kind of person that is…even when he’s a player.” Hebe expressed that she is always able to stop herself from falling deeper into a relationship when she realizes that the person is no good (ie. playboy). However, she would like to try harder now to be less rational when it comes to love as she does “not want to end up being alone.”

On the show, she covered Jolin Tsai’s hit, “Dancing Diva”, in unplugged style. Hebe’s pure and sweet voice won praises from both host Dee and Kevin. Kevin commented, “I think that it’s really the right move for Hebe to go solo because otherwise, her voice would continue to be hidden in S.H.E.” When asked would she feel less enthusiastic now to return to being S.H.E, Hebe answered, “No because I feel that it’s a different singing style so there’s still room for further improvement while I’m in the group.”

F4 reunites for next year’s CCTV Spring Festival Gala?!

The Year of the Rabbit isn’t until February of 2011, but there are already rumors of who will be performing at next year’s CCTV Spring Festival Gala. The Chinese New Year extravaganza is watched by a billion viewers every year. Stars that are lucky enough to be invited often get a major career boost after appearing on the show.

Back in January, 80s Taiwanese boygroup The Little Tigers reunited for a special performance in the gala. Their surprise reunion was not only a huge hit with the audience, but also with concert organizers. Offers made to the group reportedly had a 30% price increase.

Although F4 hasn't been around as long as the "Tigers", they will be celebrating their tenth year in 2011. Viewers sure won't mind seeing them on TV, and fans are apparently starting a petition in hopes they will reunite for a 10-year anniversary concert. F4's manager didn't deny about receiving an offer from CCTV, but said they are awaiting more details. The managers for each member will be returning to Taiwan in a few days, so they hope to begin negotiations on working out their schedules first.

It doesn't seem extremely difficult to bring Vic Chou, Ken Chu and Van Ness Wu together, but Jerry Yan’s status is still up in the air. He hasn’t been in the best of health lately, and he might have a busy movie-filming schedule on the way. The rest of F4 are currently preoccupied with their own activities – Vic Chou is filming his new drama “回家 (Returning Home)”, Van Ness Wu is about to begin work on Material Queen, and Ken Chu is busy with blogging. The poetic blogger recently posted some lyrics that he wrote himself:

“By now, what else needs to be proven. Your departure, it has buried my heart. Let me cry, let my tears wash away my sadness…”

Many fans believed he was in fact writing about his recent break up with actress Kelly Lin. However, his manager denied it saying, “It was written during his free time in between filming. It’s nothing special.”

7 Days in Heaven tops “idol movies” in the summer box office

“7 Days in Heaven (父後七日)” was a surprise winner amongst all the Chinese films released this summer in Taiwan. It has accumulated 23 million (all values in NTD*) based on a strong word of mouth. The off-beat funeral-themed movie brought tears and laughter to its audience without a big budget or any bona fide star. Coming in close behind is the mainland megahit "Aftershocks (唐山大地震)". The Feng Xiao Gang (馮小剛)-directed movie currently stands at 22 million after three weeks.

7 Days and Aftershocks handily beat a number of high profile movies starring top idols – Vic Chou’s “Love You 10000 Years” grossed 9.2 million. Leehom Wang’s “Love in Disguise” was a disappointment at 6 million, but it fared much better in the mainland. Eddie Peng and Ming Dao’s “Close to You” did slightly better with 7.3 million. Although he is not technically an idol, superstar Jet Li proved he can attract moviegoers without fancy action sequences. His movie “Ocean’s Heaven” is still in the weekly top 10 after three weeks, and it has pulled in 9.01 million so far.

In other movie news, it’s been confirmed that actress Janine Chang (張鈞甯) will not be starring in the Black & White movie. Director Tsai Yueh Hsun (蔡岳勳) said the story will begin 3 years prior to the TV version. Therefore some key players including Janine Chang, Shiou Jieh Kai (修杰楷) and Jason Chou (鄒承恩) will be missing completely or have a minimal role.

Joe Cheng and Amber Kuo return to TV with new drama “X Channel”

As reported earlier, Joe Cheng made a surprising move from GTV to star in a SETTV web drama. It looks like they are about to extend their collaboration further. SETTV is apparently starting production on a new idol drama called “X頻道 (X Channel)”. The title might suggest it’s some kind of sci-fi or adult programming, but it is in fact the name of a news network. The series will be directed by Jiang Feng Hong, who most recently worked on Summer's Desire and is also leaving GTV.

The director is rumored to be bringing along actress Tracy Chou with him – She has been out of work for 8 months due to legal troubles with her management company. Her previous dramas include Hot Shot and Calling For Love. But Tracy Chou won't be the lead, as Amber Kuo has reportedly been cast in the role. It remains to be seen how Amber Kuo will play a news anchor with her baby-voice, or if she will even play one at all.

SETTV was said to have considered pairing Sonia Sui and James Wen again. They became a very popular on-screen couple after “The Years of Happiness and Love”. The network is apparently unhappy with Sonia Sui’s high profile relationship with boyfriend Yau Yuan Hao. They worry her casting would end up creating buzz for his FTV drama “Rookies’ Diary”, which is currently killing the SETTV produced “Ni Yada” in the same time slot. SETTV denied such claim and said it's because she was just on P.S. Man. Based on their response, X Channel will most likely replace Ni Yada, which airs on Friday nights at 10.

Before Joe Cheng was cast in the drama, the network was also rumored to have considered Show Luo and Mike He. However, GTV successfully retained their number one trendy man after offering him a “tailor-made” drama. As for Mike He, he won’t work for more than twelve hours a day, and his schedule is full for the rest of the year anyway.

Leehom is out, Jerry Yan is "in" for Zhang Ziyi’s Mulan?!

Back in July, Leehom Wang was rumored to be starring in the Hollywood version of Mulan, but the latest rumors indicate that the role has gone to to Jerry Yan instead. This big-budget adaptation of the classic story is tentatively titled “巾幗英雄 (roughly translates to ‘Heroic Woman’)”. Actress Zhang Ziyi will coproduce the movie with her manager Ling Lucas and Ming “Beaver” Kwei, while “Speed” director Jan de Bont will direct.

Jerry Yan was in the news recently after dropping out of the idol drama Material Queen. Reports said he in fact passed on two other projects in order to prepare for his movie role. The new live-action Mulan will be shot entirely in English, so Jerry is working hard on brushing up on his language skills. On whether he has accepted the role, Jerry's manager said they will not disclose at this time.

There are also some worries that Zhang Ziyi’s reputation might have been tarnished by the “Donation-gate” scandal. She recently returned with a "fresh" look in a milk product commercial in hopes to recuperate her image.

Prince and Lil Jay practice Jolin's Voguing dance

Ever since the release of Jolin Tsai’s “Honey Trap” MV, Voguing has been the hottest dance in Taipei. Other than fans going to the KTV to practice it (in addition to singing), even ex-Lollipop members Prince and Lil Jay are doing the Voguing dance!

Prince (邱勝翊 / Qiu Sheng Yi) and Lil Jay (廖俊傑 / Liao Jun Jie) are getting ready to hold a mini-concert at the Hong Kong International Trade & Exhibition Centre this coming Friday. It will also be their first major performance without the other Lollipop members.

In hope for a perfect performance, the two have been working out and practicing their dance moves for almost eight hours every day. Both Prince and Lil Jay, who are already skinny to begin with, have become even skinnier; Prince lost 5Kgs while Lil Jay lost 2Kgs. They’ve been practicing Jolin’s “Honey Trap” Voguing dance for the upcoming concert. However, Prince expressed, “I was very against it in the beginning because I didn’t want to learn a girl’s dance. And I’m not a great dancer like Lil Jay. Not only do I have to stretch before starting, I also have to learn the way a girl move. It’s very hard.”

Christine Fan will be their special guest at the concert. She visited the boys during their Voguing practice to show her support for them.

Ma Guo Bi sets his car on fire

Comedian and variety show regular Ma Guo Bi (馬國畢) is supposed to marry his 3-month pregnant girlfriend on the 9th. He was rumored to have attempted suicide in his car yesterday, only two days prior to the wedding.

Police were called in after locals saw his Honda CR-V engulfed in flames on the side of the road. Ma Guo Bi was seen standing outside of his car but looking disoriented. Upon further questioning, he admitted to have taken some sleeping pills.

The body of the vehicle was completely destroyed by fire, while his wedding invitations, thank you notes and wedding pictures were blackened by smoke. A bottle of Kaoliang (~38 to 63% alcohol), along with a grill and burnt charcoal were also found inside his car. He gave several contrasting explanations on what happened during his interview with reporters. When asked about the upcoming wedding, Ma gave a surprising answer, “I will be miserable if I have to spend the rest of my life with that woman!”

There are conflicting reports on whether he was trying to commit suicide. Appledaily reported that he admitted to the police that it was indeed a suicide attempt. Meanwhile, other news outlets reported that the car caught on fire when he was trying to light up a cigarette. Ma Guo Bi later said he had an argument with his fiancée, so he wanted to burn down their wedding photos out of anger.

His mentor Jacky Wu added, “He went to a singles party and didn’t get home until early morning, therefore they had an argument! Of course his fiancée would be angry. She is a soon-to-be bride and pregnant with a baby. How can you get home so late…(You) should at least give her a call. I’ve just scolded him on the phone.”

Ma Guo Bi’s fiancée gave him an angry stare in silence when she arrived at the police station. She said she didn’t know what he was trying to do and his mom was very worried. She is angry but said they will go ahead with the wedding with Jacky Wu as their witness. Go figure...

Michael Chang plays a corpse in his new drama

After kissing Jerry Yan in Down With Love, Michael Chang (張勛傑) returns as a corpse in the new drama “美麗旅程 (Beautiful Journey)”. Contrary to its lovely title, his picture seems to suggest that it's a journey to other world rather a vacation-type of journey. He plays two characters in the story, in which one ends up on a mortuary table.

The scene was in fact shot at an old hotel, but Michael Chang didn’t have any superstitions despite it was "Ghost Month" at the time. The usually funny actor took on a more serious attitude during filming. His costar Peggy Tseng was even more cautious -- She went to a temple and prayed for several amulets (to “activate” them in a sense.)

Michael Chang only brought along an Omamori that he got from Japan. Staff members prepared a red envelope with Banyan tree leaves for him. It was supposed to ward off evil spirits in case if there were any. He said, “I thought I just had to lie there, (I) didn’t expect the director to film a close up. Even when I stopped breathing, it wasn't possible to stop my pulse from beating.” When asked if there was anything unusual after he got home, he laughed, “My heart is righteous, (I) haven’t done anything bad, why should I feel anything?”

Also, the Sonia-James pairing is said not new enough.

Jolin makes first pubic appearance after diva controversy

Joiln Tsai was recently in the mainland to promote her latest album "Myself". She made headlines after getting blasted by a well-known mainland TV personality for her appearance on his show. He wrote on his blog that her assistant refused to let her share the stage with other artistes, including veteran Taiwanese entertainers Frankie Gao (高凌風) and Lily Tien (田麗), even forbidding Gao to sing any songs by her ex Jay Chou. He criticized her saying it is a multi-star variety show, not the “Queen’s ascend to the throne”.

Frankie Gao actually came to her defense when asked about the incident, “It’s that assistant, the behavior of her mainland assistant affected other people’s impression of Jolin Tsai as a result. That's the key issue.” Jolin’s manager added, “The Beijing staff member noticed two segments (from the show) went missing, so he might have became impatient. (He) asked if everyone can wait and not to go on stage, because our segments haven’t completed yet. It was a result of miscommunication.”

Jolin also responded on her blog saying she was hurt by the comment. At the “Honey Trap Voguing Dance Competition” on the 7th, she met with reporters for the first time since her controversy. Over thirty media outlets were present at the event to await her response. Jolin came prepared and clarified that she has nothing to do with the diva behavior. She explained that people around her might have requested certain accommodations, but she would also remind her staff to beware of their attitude.

Shiou Jieh Kai generously shows his buff bod in 4 Gifts

After a dismal performance by Scent of Love, CTV will try their luck again with the upcoming idol drama 4 Gifts (女王不下班). The show is still two weeks away from its premiere, but we can expect to see a lot of skin courtesy of actor Shiou Jieh Kai (修杰楷). He and actress Lee Kang Yi (李康宜) were featured in the latest photos released from the set.

The two leads were apparently filming a scene in which their characters met in the rain. A water truck was brought in to create the man-made downpour. Lee Kang Yi said she was so soaking wet that it felt like she had just walked out of a swimming pool. Shiou Jieh Kai seemed to have enjoyed the experience much better. He said it was very cooling to be drenched in the rain on such a hot day.

Since this is an idol drama, it would only make sense that their characters end up going to a motel to dry themselves off. It was the perfect opportunity for Shiou Jieh Kai to take off his shirt and show off his toned body. To make sure the finest-looking abs made it on screen, he did hundreds of sit-ups and push-ups before filming began. Most people would take a second look but not Lee Kang Yi -- It turns out that she is not interested in muscles and even joked, “Your belly button looks bigger than most people, what could be the reason?”

4 Gifts also stars Nicholas Teo and Cynthia Wang (王心如). It is scheduled to debut on Sunday, September 19th.

Xiao S Admits That Da S Has Better Fashion Sense

The sister-pair Barbie Hsu (Da S) and Dee Hsu (Xiao S) are on the cover of Vogue’s September issue. The ever stylish Barbie expressed that she is the most fashionable female star in the Chinese entertainment industry. Although Dee agrees that Barbie has better fashion sense than she does, she reasoned, “People with a big chest are kept farther away from fashion. Fashion is for those with a flat chest.” Barbie immediately responded, “She’s talking about me.”

Dee pointed out that Barbie is always staying on top of fashion. She revealed that a few years ago when they went shopping in Japan, Barbie wanted to look for Balmain. However, Dee mistaken the brand name as ‘cousin’ (‘Biao Mei’), and embarrassingly asked Barbie, “Where’s our cousin?” Dee explained, “At the time, everyone hadn’t gotten familiar with the brand yet, but she already knew about it!”

When asked which aspect they like about each other? Barbie complimented her sister as "someone whom everybody likes." Regardless if it’s a senior, a friend, or a neighbor, Dee is always able to get along with everybody. Dee on the other hand, complimented Barbie for having "the power to persuade." Whether it’s regarding work or shopping, Barbie is always able to help Dee in decision making, “Her words have a kind of firmness that can help me settle (with a final decision).”

Barbie and Dee are the spokespersons for 2010 Vogue’s Fashion's Night Out. They will be appearing at three SOGO (department store) locations on September 11 to promote the event.
