Kai Ko splits his prize money with Michelle Chen

As reported previously, Kai Ko has just won the Golden Horse New Actor Award; boss Angie Cai kept her promise and rewarded him with one million TWD, which is twenty times more than the prize money from Golden Horse itself! Kai previously promised that he would reward his management staff with 50 thousand TWD each; he would use half of it to pay for his parent’s vacation trip; he would split the rest with his costar and Goddess Michelle Chen. Michelle laughed, “The rest will all be mine!”

“The Apple Of My Eye” did extremely well in both Taiwan and Hong Kong; it is one of the local movies with the highest investment returns of the year. Although only Kai won out of the four nominations for the movie, their celebration party was still filled with journalists. Director Giddens Ko and the rest of the guys even wore high school uniforms at the party and Kai’s parents and his older brother also attended to share his glory.

Kai expressed that he was able to thank everybody that he should on stage without missing anyone. Since Kai showed his behind in his debut role, the media asked if he would go even further and film totally nude; he said that he will be looking to improve on his acting instead of showing more skin. Giddens on the other hand teased, “He needs to be like Shu Qi and put his clothes back on one by one.”

Kai admitted that he now has no regrets at age 20. When the media asked if he was not afraid of using up all his good fortunes at age 20, Giddens made fun, “No, since the media wrote so much about him, it balanced it out.” -- referring to the intimate photos of Kai with other girls that made news headlines. Kai knows that many netizens are dissatisfied with his win, but he said he was not afraid of criticisms and emphasized that he would continue to work hard; he expressed that he wanted to take on more school-life related roles.

Giddens was most concerned about Michelle’s feelings, but she expressed that she was “very happy.” Not only she got to hold Simon Yam’s hand, Andy Lau said on stage that he waited 30 years for her to appear. There was nothing more that Michelle could ask for. Andy also comforted Giddens; Giddens went to the washroom while feeling down for not winning, but he heard someone comforting him, and when he turned around, it was Andy! Giddens said happily, “It was really Andy himself who came over to talk to me!”

Netizens spot flaws in "In Time With You"

FTV and GTV’s “In Time With You” starring Ariel Lin, Chen Bo-Lin, and Sunny Wang scored 3.54% in ratings last weekend (approximately 2 million and 41 thousand viewers). Although it was still behind TTV and SETTV’s “Office Girls'” 5.05% (approx. 2 million 762 thousand viewers), it was the closest that it had ever come to rivaling first place.

However, many sharp-eyed netizens spotted some flaws in the drama. Sunny was in a plane accident and Ariel immediately flew to Singapore to see him. Netizens made fun that the speed it took for her to get to her destination was unreasonably fast: “1 second to Singapore”, “It’s Doraemon’s Anywhere Door”. GTV explained that some scenes were edited for better pacing in the drama.

Netizens also believed that the plane landed in Malaysia, yet Ariel flew to the Singapore airport to embrace him with love. GTV pointed out that the drama did not specifically state where Sunny was, so it was probably somewhere near Singapore. GTV added that the main purpose was to increase suspense -- Chen Bo-Lin seeing Ariel and Sunny hugging sweetly with his own eyes.

Fans keep Wu Chun fed

Wu Chun, Louis Koo Tin Lok, Karena Ng Chin Yu, Anjaylia Chan Ka Bo, Raymond Wong Pak Ming and others two nights ago attended a charity premiere of MAGIC TO WIN (HOI SUM MOR FAT) in Wan Chai. They performed a magic show and received thunderous applause.

Goo Jai revealed that he was drunk in 90% of the film. Did he truly drink? He joked, "Of course it was tea, but I really had to drink for a (Johnnie) To Kei Fung movie. At the time I had to finish an entire bottle of beer in one breath, after the shoot I was a little dizzy. Luckily after that we were done." Goo Jai said that he would decide how much to drink depending on his condition. On an empty stomach he would be worse, but he would drink responsibly. Speaking of Christmas, lately he has been flying around so much that he almost had no idea who he was or where he was.

Wu Chun in the film was invisible for awhile. Did anyone crack up? He said that a lot of comedy ensued. Did he take the chance to study martial art with Wu Jing? Wu Chun said, "No, but I has asked him to teach me. I am very interested in martial arts." Wu Chun had the most fans on hand, but his co-star Chan Ka Bo did not fall under his spell. Instead she praised how seeing him meant free food. Wu Chun joked, "Right! I thank my fans for always buying food for me. They would buy everyone's share as well. Although it wasn't everyday, there was a lot of food. (You got them everywhere you went in the world?) In Japan they did. So I truly can't possibly starve to death."

Jay Chou attracts over 5,000 fans to autographing and mini concert event

Jay Chou attracted over five thousand fans to his autographing and mini concert event at Ximending for his latest album, “Exclamation Mark”. Many fans painted exclamation marks on their faces to show their support. After signing over five thousand albums yesterday, Jay said in relief, “(I’m) very touched, I saw many familiar faces.” Jay sang his latest single, “Hydrophobic Sailor” with his good friends Xiao Mai and Xue Gao; their comedic dance made many fans scream in excitement.

Astronomical observer Winson Tsai who discovered and named the “Jay Chou” Asteroid, also attended the event. Jay expressed, “If future technology can allow us to go to the asteroid, I film an MV or even bring everyone there to hold my autographing and mini concert event.” He did not forget to add, “I hope there won’t be any paparazzi there.”

In related news, Will Pan designed a new game for iPhone with its character modeled after Jay. He wrote on his micro-blog, “Jay and I got the inspiration for the game a year ago...This is a present to celebrate the release of your new album this month!” JVR Music emphasized that they did not give permission to Will to use Jay’s image, but when asked if they would sue, they replied, “They are good friends. Furthermore, the game is free, so there is no profit made from it.” Jay responded, “I don’t have any other friends who develop games, so it’s pretty cool.” Regarding the copyright issue, he expressed, “It’s a thoughtful gift from a friend,” and said that he will download the game to play.

In other related news, the movie theme song, “Dad”, which Jay wrote and sang as a duet with veteran Taiwanese (dialect) singer Hung Jung, did not win at the Golden Horse Awards. Jay responded with class, “You can’t win on every game.”

Condoms confiscated from Peter Ho by customs

Peter Ho was heading to the mainland for filming, but believe it or not, he had over a hundred boxes of condoms confiscated by customs. When reporters asked his manager to confirm the news, she expressed that Peter was the spokesperson for the condom brand, so he naturally received them as free gifts. According to the news reports, Peter rushed back to the mainland to continue his filming right after the condom spokesperson event. He stored all the free condoms in his carry-on since his suitcase was full, and was planning to give them to his film crew.

Peter’s manager said that when the customs officer confiscated the condoms, the officer recognized Peter and even giggled, causing Peter to feel extremely embarrassed. Peter explained, “Man, it’s because I filmed a commercial for a Japanese condom brand. The young staff members from my mainland film crew wanted me to provide them with endless amounts of condoms. That’s why I brought so many boxes. They were all for others. I’m not the one using them.”

Wei Te-Sheng considers giving up on the brink of the victory

WARRIORS OF THE RAINBOW: SEEDIQ BALE took home four Golden Horse Awards including Best Feature Film. Director Wei Te-Sheng at the celebration laughed very happily; but he admitted that he was somewhat disappointed about not winning other awards. As for Best New Actor, SEEDIQ had three nominees and all lost to Ko Chen-Tung. Director Wei was asked whether he would be petty, he joked, "Today I can't bring swords so it's unfair." He said that when the Best Feature Film was announced, at the time he wanted to give up, took the chance to run to the bathroom and escaped the awkwardness of defeat in the front of the camera. Luckily he finally won the biggest award, which surprised him very much.

In addition, the Best Actor favorite, JUMP! ASHIN's Eddie Peng Yu-yen lost to Wa Jai. When Doze Niu Chen-Zer and Lee Lieh presented the Best New Director Award they even said that he did not have much chance to win. Peng Yu-Yen said that the director was only joking because they were close. However, he admitted that he was somewhat disappointed because he gave a lot in JUMP! Although this time he could not win, he was very happy to be nominated with other elders.

Ethan Juan (Yuen King Tin) two nights ago was a guest presenter along with Shu Qi. Then he even attended the WU XIA celebration. Big Brother Jimmy Wang Yu who lost despite a high vote count also attended and kept joking. He said that he did not expect what he said on stage, "I had a stroke but no award" to become the show's slang. He even said, "Actually I can be with or without the award, the most important is presenting the award to Director Ting Shan-Hsi. Being able to present the award to him I am truly the happiest."

When Siu Tin saw Big Brother Wang Yu he joyously embraced him. Both were bald and immediately reporters noticed their collaboration. Siu Tin joked, "Big Brother Wang is the chief commander of us GUILLOTINES (HUET DIK JI). He is responsible for training and leading us." Big Brother Wang Yu said that earlier he went to Xian to guest star for a few days in GUILLOTINES. He saw how hard working young Best Actor Siu Tin was and praised him as a very rare actor. Big Brother Wang Yu suddenly recalled he co-starred in Donnie Yen Chi Tan, Takeshi Kaneshiro (Gum Sing Mo) and Tang Wei in WU XIA and joked, "Why wasn't I nominated for Best Actor? If I was nominated for Best Actor and I could duel with (Andy) Lau Tak Wa, I might have won too!" Another guest presenter Simon Yam Tat Wa asked for a glass of water and began to "toast" the team. Brother Wa who did not drink said, "This is my 98% white wine, I have to congratulate all the winners!"

Ko Chen-Tung shares his prize with his parents and team

Although YOU ARE THE APPLE OF MY EYE has been a Hong Kong and Taiwan box office hit, director Giddens Ko and Michelle Chen did not win the Golden Horse Best New Director and Best Actress. However they still attended the celebration after the show and were happy for the Best New Actor Ko Chen-Tung. Executive producer Angie Chai once stated that the winner would receive her big red pocket of NT$1 million. Two nights ago at the celebration, Ko Chen-Tung excitedly displayed the check. How would he use it? Ko Chen-Tung said that he would give some of it to his parents and take them to visit either Paris or India. The rest would be shared with the team in appreciation of their help, with very little left for himself. Two nights ago his parents and brother also attended in support.

Ko Chen-Tung gave special thanks to director Giddens Ko for giving him the courage to play this film. He also declared that he loved his co-star Michelle Chen very much, only because of her he had the chance to step foot into the Golden Horse Award. He pointed out that the award made his age 20 perfect. Because the Best New Actor award was once in a lifetime, to him it was very valuable and it felt great to win. Speaking of his red underwear, he joked that red underwear was the most basic item at award shows. From now on when he will compete for other awards, he will wear red underwear.

Ko Chen-Tung also said that he was very happy to run into his idol Shu Qi. As for Michelle Chen she also had the chance to meet her idol Andy Lau Tak Wa. Wa Jai even expressed on stage that he loved her very much. Michelle Chen excitedly said, "At that moment, I felt I had enough today, whether I won or not it was not important. YOU gave me a lot of things, in particular the love of viewers was my greatest reward." Michelle Chen said that she has been Wa Jai's fan since she was little. She asked Wa Jai whether they will have a chance to work together. When Wa Jai said definitely, she felt like she was dreaming. Would she get a share of her co-star's NT$1 million cash prize? Michelle Chen joked that she definitely will chase him down for it.

Giddens Ko said that he ran into Wa Jai in the bathroom. Wa Jai tapped him on the shoulder and encouraged him not to give up. He even said that he had to work hard for years before his achievements today, which made him feel warm. Before the race Ko Chen-Tung was considered the dark horse. Some online criticized him for "defeating three shotguns with one handgun (masturbation)", Giddens Ko hoped that no one would be pity. Nominees should be happy but when they do not win they should face reality, at the same time wish the competition well and examine themselves. Ko Chen-Tung did not mind the criticism and in the future he will challenge different film standards.

Sylvia Chang reveals Ann Hui's narrow victory

The Golden Horse Award has come to an end. One of the jury members Sylvia Chang (Cheung Ngai Ga) stated that this year's judging process was fair and sensible. Most of the jury did not know the final result. The longest discussion was for the "Best Director" award, after three rounds of vote Ann Hui On Wa edged out LET THE BULLETS FLY's Jiang Wen and WARRIORS OF THE RAINBOW: SEEDIQ BALE's Wei Te-Sheng. The second high scorer for Best Actress was Shu Qi, and Best Actor Andy Lau Tak Wa narrowly beat Ge You.

Ko Chen-Tung won the Best New Performer. Cheung Ngai Ga said, "The New Performer award passed with one round, relying on the actor's strength and performance." Back stage she praised Eddie Peng Yu-Yen for his infinite potential, only that this year's Best Actor competition was too strong. As for Best Feature Film SEEDIQ BALE, Korean jury member Lee Chong-Dong said that the film won due to its inspiration for national films worldwide.

Mainland Best Actress Qin Hailu was nominated for Best Actress but finally won Best Original Screenplay. Before presenting the award to herself, she joked on stage that the Golden Horse had a conspiracy. Yet when director Fruit Chan Gor announced her name, she was very surprised. She joked, "If you knew I really would win, I wouldn't have said that!"

Wu Chun's electric eyes malfunction

Wu Chun, Karena Ng Chin Yu, Raymond Wong Pak Ming, Anjaylia Chan Ka Bo and others yesterday promoted their fantasy film MAGIC TO WIN (HOI SUM MOR FAT).

Chin Yu ran into "Electric Eyes" Wu Chun in her first film. Was she "electrocuted"? Wu Chun chimed in and said that in the film he was electrocuted due to electricity leak so he was already out of juice. Chin Yu joked, "I wasn't electrocuted, maybe he really used up all the electricity!" When asked whether Wu Chun lacked electricity because he was "married"? He immediately joked that reporters could actually make a stretch to that topic and denied that he was married.

The film subject was magic. Wu Chun through the film learned some card and coin tricks that he liked very much. Later he will keep learning. Would he use it to woo girls? Wu Chun joked, "I don't have to, chasing girls require sincerity!" Chin Yu also said that she liked to watch magic shows but magicians would not particularly win her over. She also said that Wu Chun liked to study how the magic trick worked. In addition, Wu Chun said that he still did not know whether he would have to work during Christmas. If not he hoped to be able to spend more time with his family, since he spent so much time on making movies. As for Christmas gifts, he said that he usually had to get belated gifts. Speaking of Andy Lau Tak Wa and Deanie Ip Tak Han's Golden Horse Award victories, Wu Chun was happy for them both.

Selina's first EP since she got injured will be released on the same day as the wedding ceremony, on the16th of December

For Selina's comeback after she got injured H.I.M International Music made a plan to release product(s) which records her emotions. As her health has improved quite well the plan is currently in process. First a single "Each and Everyone Who Love Me" was revealed before the wedding. It was to thank all the people who have encouraged her and who have cared about her, as well as a present to herself for reaching a new stage in life. After becoming Mrs. Zhang after the wedding ceremony, except for doing the usual planned therapy session she also started to prepare for the release of the EP.

Yesterday Selina started to film for the music video. Considering her health condition, the director especially chose a secret filming studio. He also used the fastest method to film. Due to Selina not being able to stand for long, she sat most of the time while lip-synching. Even though they have been low-profiled about the schedule because the director was too eager to share the filming with everybody at weibo it was revealed earlier than planned. Speaking of the process of the EP, Selina's record company expressed that they will include 3 songs (to the EP), except for the one JJ Lin wrote (Each and Everyone Who Love Me), the other two songs are specially written for Selina by the two kings of compositions Jay Chou and Wang Lee Hom. They hope they can share through musical products Selina's long and memorable life experience with people and fans who care about her.

A lot of people are concerned about whether Selina have gone to register her marriage and has officially become Mrs. Zhang. Selina said that they will probably wait till the Changhua wedding ceremony on the 16th of December has ended before they will discuss about this again. Selina is currently nervous about the production of the EP. H.I.M International has planned to get it done soon so it will be able to release on the same day as Selina's big day.

Jay Chou slips and almost falls

THE VIRAL FACTOR (YIK JIN) shot on location in Malaysia and successfully applied to shoot an action scene between Jay Chou (Chow Kit Lun) and villains at a private hospital. This private hospital was a heart specialty hospital. All of its patients were heart patients. In order to avoid scaring patients, loud scenes like gun fights and explosions must be strictly controlled.

Chairman Chou shot a highly difficult building jump scene at the hospital as he jumped from a seventh floor air conditioner to a sixth floor one. With the pouring rain that day, the outdoor shoot was more difficult. Chairman Chou in order to challenge himself chose to perform the stunt himself and gave his first building jump to director Dante Lam Chiu Yin. His professionalism was commendable. Chairman Chou said, "The jump from the seventh floor to the sixth floor seems to be just one floor, but I still feel my knees getting weak. However actually it was very fun, such an experience wouldn't happen normally." Chairman Chou while shooting accidentally slipped and lost his balance. He almost fell directly to the ground. Luckily he was agile enough to grab the metal rack nearby to prevent the accident.

Lam Chiu Yin admired Chairman Chou's courage and thanked him for trusting him. "Although it was my first collaboration with Chow Kit Lun, he trusted me very much. He never asked me 'why' before trusting me. That jump required a lot of courage. He has never been in such a stunt before. In addition he was very mild mannered, so I really appreciated his hard work."

Also, Chairman Chou also had close combat scenes. He said, "In the film I had to fight bare hand, which to me was a huge challenge." Although it was difficult, Chairman Chou also said that he thought being a part of THE VIRAL FACTOR was worth it. He also thought that in life he must have some memorable things, and a film was a great documentary. "THE VIRAL FACTOR is worth making. In the future when I will share the experience with my child, I will tell him, 'Look, your Pa used to be able to fight very well.'"

Pop charts: Jay Chou goes number one, Sodagreen in second

As expected, Jay Chou is number one on both G-Music’s and Five Music’s album sales chart. Following behind in second place is Sodagreen.

Interestingly, five out of the eleven tracks from Sodagreen’s newest album, “What Is Troubling You” (你在煩惱甚麼), were originally written for Jacky Cheung, A-Mei Chang, Rainie Yang and other singers. However the tracks were rejected, so Tsing Fong decided to sing them himself. Their new singles “The Limit of Happiness” (幸福額度), “Enjoy Loneliness” (喜歡寂寞) and “What Is Troubling You” (你在煩惱什麼) have already attracted over four million views on YouTube.

“Enjoy Loneliness” was first rejected by A-Mei. After Tsing Fong rewrote the lyrics, Na Ying was interested in singing the song, but she later chose “My Happiness Just Right” (幸福剛剛好) instead; “What Is Troubling You” was written for Jacky Cheung but the song didn’t make it to release because Jacky later decided to make a Jazz album; “When We’re Together” (當我們一起走過) was written for Rainie Yang; “Callus” (繭) was for Yoga Lin but it was turned down after he had trouble singing the song smoothly; when Tsing Fong gave Fish Leong “You’ve Been Written In My Song” (你被寫在我的歌裡), she had already finished recording her album, so he got Ella to sing it as a duet with him.

Among the songs that Tsing Fong has written, Amit’s “Fallen” (掉了) and Rainie’s “Take Me Away” (帶我走) has earned him the most royalties.

Kai Ko takes Polaroids with fans who buy two copies of his album

After rising to fame with the hit movie, “You Are The Apple Of My Eye”, Kai Ko turned his focus to singing and released his debut album titled, “Be Yourself”. He held an autographing and mini concert event on the 19th. Compared to last time when he went off-tune at the press conference, his performance was much better this time; he gave himself a score of 72 out of 100.

“You Are The Apple Of My Eye” grossed 410 million TWD in Taiwan and 200 million TWD in Hong Kong at the box office. Due to the movie’s success, he has become the idol of many older women. Even the 46 year-old veteran entertainer Hsu Sheng-Mei revealed that she admires him. However, Kai rolled his eyes upon hearing this; he later said, “I thank her very much for liking me.” As for others who have sexual fantasies about him, he replied embarrassingly, “I can’t control them.”

A few days ago, netizens were heavily criticizing Show Luo for taking photos with fans who buy three copies of his album or a hug for five copies; now Kai is also “taking Polaroids with fans who buy two copies.” When asked if he was not afraid of getting bashed by netizens, he cried, “I didn’t decide that!” His record company Sony Music explained, “This is a small service to treat the fans. Furthermore, it is limited to first three hundred. It is definitely not for boosting sales.”

Kai revealed during a radio interview that he got scolded by his dad when intimate photos of him with a girl made news headlines. His dad wanted him to find out which of his friends did it, but he refused, “I already don’t have many friends, yet he wants me to be suspicious of them.” The incident has caused a bit of conflict between him and his dad. He even shed tears from being upset.

Kai Ko's "Be Yourself" album is now available at YesAsia!

Jay Chou Loves Strutting Around Naked?

Jay's dance instructor (alias "Ice Cream") recently revealed on a Taiwanese variety show that Jay actually has a habit of strutting 'au naturel' at home.

So what prompted him to develop a liking for that? Well apparently when his crews and him visited a hot spring in Japan, he waded around in a towel refusing to bare it all but ended up enjoying the "nudity". Oh! And to the extent of posing 'Roman-sculpture-like' for his male crews.

Jay is not afraid of the revelations. In fact, he laughed it off and said he enjoys it because, "it feels like I'm flying like an eagle, it's really not bad!"

Not to mention that he also declared that he normally don't wear underwear because he feels comfortable that way and only wears it for concerts.

Woah! Are you struck by these revelations?

Rumored Lovers, Leehom Wang and Shu Qi, to Meet in Taiwan

Shu Qi’s (舒淇) romance with Leehom Wang (王力宏) has always been buried underground. However, the couple may be tired of their romance being unable to be revealed in the daylight. Last night, Shu Qi flew to Taiwan to meet with her lover. Leehom may even intend to announce their romance by broadcasting a music video at his concert! Allegedly, Leehom’s mother objected to Leehom’s intention, forcing him to abandon his announcement.

Since 2006, Shu Qi and Leehom’s romantic rumors have not slowed down. They were even spotted shopping for matching lovers’ rings in Japan. Despite the rumors, Shu Qi and Leehom never acknowledged their relationship. Recently, the pair often exchanged loving messages through their blogs. Shu Qi uploaded a photo of a Japanese Teppanki meal and wrote smittenly, “This was an extremely happy meal,” apparently she may be interested in revealing the relationship publicly.

Flying Back to Taiwan

The day before, Shu Qi announced that she will take a six-month hiatus from her acting career. At 4 PM, Shu Qi was spotted at the airport alone, pushing several luggage pieces. She wore a cap and several crystal wristlets which were deemed to bring luck in love.

Shu Qi’s arrival in Taiwan led to speculations that she intended to meet rumored boyfriend, Leehom Wang, who was busily preparing for his concert in late November. Despite the sensitive period, Shu Qi risked flying to Taiwan at this time.

Sharing Shu Qi’s view, it was understood that Leehom wished to acknowledge their dating relationship. Since Shu Qi was nominated for the sixth time for Best Actress in the upcoming Golden Horse Awards, this year for her performance in A Beautiful Life "不再讓你孤單". The awards ceremony coincided with Leehom’s November concert in Taiwan. Allegedly, Leehom wished to broadcast a music video at his concert to show his support for Shu Qi’s Golden Horse nomination. Leehom intended to set up a television backstage, eager to find out firsthand whether Shu Qi will win the Best Actress Award when the results of the Golden Horse Awards were announced.

Leehom’s Family Against the Romance

It was understood that Leehom’s family was still unable to accept Shu Qi. Leehom’s family had already bought VIP tickets to enjoy his upcoming concert performance. Leehom’s family protested against the broadcast of the music video at the concert, upon which Leehom took into account the feelings of his elders. Regarding rumors of the music video, Leehom’s manager denied that there were ever intentions of broadcasting the music video.

Yesterday, Leehom was rehearsing for his upcoming concert. Asked about the intention to broadcast a music video at his concert, Leehom said reservedly, “No, that will not happen! This will be a concert and it is separate from a music video.” Asked whether he thought that Shu Qi will win the Best Actress title at the Golden Horse Awards, Leehom said, “I wish her good luck!”

With rumors that Leehom intended to broadcast a music video at his concert, Leehom and Shu Qi were bombarded with questions regarding their relationship. Shu Qi succinctly wrote on her blog, “A mare’s nest (子虛烏有)” alluding that the romance was non-existent. Shu Qi’s answer sparked war of words among fans.

Netizens create anti-Show Luo fan page on Facebook

As reported previously, Show Luo is the champion of 2011 album sales, but a reader expressed to Appledaily that Show has been robbing the fans’ money by releasing multiple versions of his album. The reader believes that this trend is wrecking the Chinese music industry, thus, an “Anti-Show Luo fan club” has been set up on Facebook. Show’s manager Chiang Cheng-Chin expressed, “Show takes care of his fans the most. He signed those albums one by one.”

The reader complained, “Show’s fans are still young, so in order to receive a hug from him, they’ll whine and ask their parents to buy multiple copies of the same thing. As a result, some singers are using the same tactic, which is why the music industry is on a decline.”

In regards to the complaint, Chiang Cheng-Chin responded, “Show has always offered this to the fans since he debuted. He didn’t start after he became popular. He has always done the same. From what I know, many fans on the web commented that even if they buy one copy just to see Show, they are already very happy. There aren’t that many who buy multiple copies.”

However, the reader pointed out, “He releases six to nine versions per album. Nine versions of the same album was his highest record.” Chiang Cheng-Chin denied, “Nine versions is over-the-top. Usually there would be a pre-order version, actual release version, and another version a month later. Furthermore, this is decided by the record company, we only cooperate with them.”

The reader also criticized Show for charging fans $1,799 (NT) as an annual fan club fee when he makes over 100 million TWD a year. Chiang Cheng-Chin explained, “His fan club has been established for five years and the annual fee has never been increased. Besides receiving a free T-Shirt and exclusive photobooks, fan club members also get to meet Show once a year. I don’t believe there is another fan club that provides as much benefits as Show’s.”

The “Anti-Show Luo Fan Club” currently has about a hundred members, but Show’s fans are not just sitting with their arms crossed either as they formed an “Anti Anti-Show Luo Fan Club”, which has two thousand members. The two sides continue to bicker with each other on each of the pages. Chiang Cheng-Chin feels that this incident seem to have happened at a perfect time, so he suspects that it is done by someone from the industry who is jealous of Show being the top seller.

The three money robbing tactics of the Dancing King

At album signing events – Fans can get a hug with five copies of his album or a photo op with three.
Multiple versions: constantly releases new versions of the same album. One of his albums even had nine versions, but his record company denied the claim.
High annual fan club fees: Fans must pay $1,799 (NT) per year

Michelle Chen drives fans wild

Michelle Chen with YOU ARE THE APPLE OF MY EYE has been scorching in Hong Kong. Yesterday she was the guest at a certain shopping center's lighting ceremony and attracted over 300 people who jammed into the entire shopping center for a glimpse of the goddess. Some otaku even risked sitting under the escalator, the scene was rather exaggerated!

The event followed how Ko Chen-Tung called to find Shen Chia-Yi in the movie to introduce her. Michelle Chen descended from the escalator with a male model and the entire venue cheered for her. Many also called her "Shen Chia-Yi". She politely waved and flashed her trademark sweet smile. Michelle Chen said that her appearance reminded her YOU's story. If in reality she truly had a Ko Chen-Tung, she definitely would tell him that they should be together. Speaking of Christmas, Michelle Chen also revealed that in the past she spent it with friends. This year she believed that she would spend it at work. If she could she would like to be with a lover somewhere with a Christmas tree.

On this trip, Michelle Chen's popularity was obviously much higher. She was very happy that so many people liked YOU, which was her honor. Did anyone take advantage of her just now? She said that the crew protected herself very well, and her fans have always been very nice and very sweet. She even heard them called her "Shen Chia-Yi". She was very happy that everyone liked a character. Speaking of her salary in Hong Kong now was one hundred times more, Michelle Chen said with surprise, "That's too exaggerated? I don't think I have so much. I have never attended this type of events in Hong Kong. I really have to ask my manager. (What about in Taiwan?) I think it jumped ten folds."

Aside from Michelle Chen's rapidly rising popularity, YOU's box office rocketed toward 60 million. She thanked the Hong Kong audience for its support. Would she like the cast to come and promote again? She said she would. Giddens Ko once promised them that with a good box office performance he will take them on vacation. She would like to go to Italy the most, of course Giddens Ko had to treat. Michelle Chen revealed that at night she would leave Hong Kong because she still had a lot of work in Taiwan. Did she have time to go out in Hong Kong two nights ago? She said that after getting of the plane she kept posing for photos and fielding interview. At night she finally had time to go for hot pot casserole with the crew. If she had time she would like to go out to shop.

Idol singer Aaron Yan of Fahrenheit received a lot of support from his die-hard fans. “The Next Me”, which is his first solo EP, managed to put him in third place ahead of the other “Kings” and “Queens” of the industry. He expressed thanks for the recognition yesterday.

Hebe Tien was fifth last year with her first solo album, “To Hebe”, which sold 50 thousand copies. She released her second album, “My Love” this year and advanced one spot on the chart. However, the album has just been released in September, so it is hard to tell what its final sales number will be.

A-Mei Chang continues to be consistent in sales. “R U Watching?” was released in April and has sold 45 thousand copies, placing her in fifth place.

Wu Jing is afraid of accidentally hitting Wu Chun

In MAGIC TO WIN (HOI SUM MOR FAT) the earth element magician Wu Chun and the fire element magician Wu Jing had a fight scene. Known as the strongest on Earth, Wu Jing has always been known as an agile fighter. Action scenes should be easy for him. Yet running into Wu Chun he felt pressure. Wu Jing joked, "Because Wu Chun is truly too handsome and has many fans, you know in fight scenes punches and kicks have no eyes. If I wasn't careful and hit him, I was really afraid that his fans would scold me. Actually I know Wu Chun before the shoot worked on several action films. He has always been athletic so his reaction was very fast. He is so big that I am afraid of him getting me!"

Wu Chun said, "Lord Jing can fight, everyone knows that. I cannot possible fight him. Before this scene I was very nervous, I practiced a few times with Lord Jing and the action director. In this scene I had to jump between book shelves. Since those book shelves moved I would fall to the ground with any misstep. Thus it really was not easy at all. I had to work on 'wires' and remember my marks, as well as the action and acting, this scene truly was very tough and took two full nights to finish."
