Lee Sinie cries in her studio return

Famous Taiwan musician Yao Chien's first animated film MELODY will soon be released. The film features James Lin (Lam Yau Ga) and Angelica Lee Sinjie as the voices of its leads. Yesterday a film novel press conference was held in Taiwan. Lee Sinjie appeared in person in support while Lau Yau Ga was absent due to work.

With the film release, the film original soundtrack will be released soon as well. Sinjie said that she was completely involved this time from song arrangement to production. Every time she recorded she had to practice several times with the producer and song arrangement personnel before recording. Recalling the process, she said, "The process was truly extraordinarily hard. Because I haven't been to the recording studio in awhile, the pressure was very great. I even hid in the corner and shed tears, but everyone was very satisfied with the resulting work."

After nine years away from the music scene, Sinjie returned in support of good friend Yao Chien. Not only her singing bug returned, she was also inspired to work on a new record. She revealed that preparations have already begun but she did not want to give herself too much pressure. The record will mainly feature her own creations as she hoped to bring her love to everyone, which was also the reason that she wanted to keep on singing; the new record at the soonest will be released at the end of the year.

Yu Hao Ming Left with a Scarred Face; Selina Recovers & Enjoys Sports

Last year in October Selina and Yu Hao Ming were left severely injured due to an explosion scene while filming for "I Have a Date with Spring." More than a year later and after active rehabilitation, Selina has recently resumed work and even went to play badminton and cycling. On the other hand, Yu Hao Ming is still not yet ready to return to work. His good friends recently revealed on a show that his face is still swollen, has blood stasis (T/N: situation where blood isn't moving well in the body), and is no longer his handsome self. However at the end of last month, there were netizens that said they saw him in a cafe in Shanghai. Although he was still wearing a hat and elastic gloves, his mood and his recovery status seemed to be at a pretty good state.

Selina severely injured both of her legs and is still not fully recovered. She continued to stay optimistic and fell in love with sports. Selina met up with Hebe and Ella last week with Selina's father as their guide. They went cycling at Dajia Riverside Park, went to eat when they were tired, and played badminton for two hours afterwards.

R&B is also Discovered by Koreans? Nick Chou Responds to Copycat Criticisms

Nick Chou is about to release his newly self-produced album 'S.N.G.' The music video of his R&B title song with the same name has already garnered 220,000 hits on Youtube. However there are netizens that are complaining that he copied Taeyang from Korean group Big Bang's 'I Need a Girl.' Nick complained on his Facebook page regarding this, "There are people saying that you are copying Koreans if you produce R&B music. However Korea did not discover R&B music."

Nick Chou held an 'S.N.G.' autograph session on the 27th at Ximending and his handsome performances of his new songs left the thousands of "Mrs. Chou" crazily screaming below the stage. But also because of this new song, heated arguments started on Youtube. The R&B song 'S.N.G.' has attracted 220,000 hits on Youtube in just two short weeks. Some netizens praised his great improvements in singing and dancing.

But there were also people that criticized. The style of the song is said to be similar and a copycat of Korean group Big Bang Taeyang's 'I Need a Girl.' Nick Chou's fans responded angrily, "You all like Korean things so much that you've become crazy. Don't put down the efforts of Taiwanese singers."

Nick Chou responded on the 26th via his Facebook, "If it wasn't because Korea is so great, the younger generation of Taiwanese will still need to be educated... because some people still think producing R&B music equates to copying Koreans.. R&B is not even discovered by Korea... =_= This type of thinking is a pretty serious problem.. Perhaps everyone has forgetten that there were many Taiwanese that produced R&B music few years ago and were great at it?! Jay Chou.. David Tao.. Leehom Wang.. And if I must say this .. there isn't just one person that does R&B music in Korea.. You don't have to be responsible for what you say. Everyone has their own thoughts. I accept this open-mindedly.. but when you open your month and express your personal opinions to someone else's music, it only reveals that you totally don't understand music... Thank you to those who helped me explain online. I hope everyone won't be too agitated about this!!"

After starring in idol drama "I Love You So Much," Nick's popularity has risen tremendously. His autograph session on the 27th had attracted over a thousand fans to Ximending. Drama lead actress, Lee Chia Ying, supported Nick by gifting him leopard boxing gloves and praised him, "Nick is a really sweet guy." Nick responded by saying, "Lee Chia Ying, I'll treat you to dinner later."

Nick's album 'S.N.G.' will be released on the 30th and 15,617 copies are already preordered. He also announced that he will be holding a concert on June 16 with tickets going on sale starting the 28th. Regarding the special guest at his concert, he said, "There's someone we asked, but we have to see if he will be willing."

Elva was at an event yesterday and admitted to going bike riding with Kai (top photos: Elva covered her ears when the media asked about the love rumor and she tried to hide her smile when talking about Kai). She then pleaded the media, “Oh, can you guys stop asking?!” Regardless of what she says, the media is not convinced as they’ve been spotted together numerous times which included going to the movies, hanging out at a nightclub, meeting at the National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, at a coffee shop, and going bike riding.

Elva and Kai were seen at a coffee shop just the day before.

Kai wrote on Facebook yesterday, “(I’ve) been riding my bike every day! Whether it’s during the day, night, or early morning, I’m riding my bike. It’s truly relaxing!” Kai has cut back on going to the nightclubs ever since he was diagnosed with Lipoma. He will be getting it removed in June.

Jeremy Liu opts out of the Golden Melody Awards

Last year in July, Jeremy Liu released the album, “Touched”, and his single, “Thinking of You”, immediately became an internet sensation with his intentional flat vocals accompanied with a retro style MV. After Golden Melody unveiled its list of nominees, some expressed that it was a pity that Jeremy’s album was not nominated. However, Jeremy’s dad, Liu Jia-Chang, revealed that he did not allow the record company to send a GMA application for the album because he was afraid of his son feeling hurt. Nonetheless, he wanted to thank those who supported the album.

Although Jeremy’s “Thinking of You” received harsh criticisms and was an easy target for parody, his popularity rose ten-folds. As a result, Jeremy received many invitations to appear on variety shows, concerts, and movies. However, due to his inexperience in showbiz, he mainly participated in performing at various school mini-concerts and New Year countdown shows, while the rest were turned down. He was also originally supposed to appear in the Hong Kong Chinese New Year movie, “All’s Well, End’s Well 2012”, but because the movie had no script, Jeremy was too nervous to act in it.

Jeremy is currently making his third album. This time, he will have full control over it and all the tracks will be of his work.

Aaron Yan beats Jiro Wang by a nose in Sunday night idol drama ratings battle

Fahrenheit fans were torn apart last Sunday as Aaron Yan’s new drama, “Alice In Wonder City”, premiered against Jiro Wang’s “Absolute Boyfriend”. Here’s the result you’ve been waiting for... Aaron beat Jiro by 0.01%! However, it's hardly anything to celebrate about as it scored a disappointing 0.65% overall. The fans believe that both dramas were hurt due to airing at the same time, causing fans to constantly switch channels to catch both. Fahrenheit’s manager commented, “This is how the battle of idol dramas is. (I) can only say that both of them need to work harder.”

After “Alice’s” premiere, netizens praised Aaron's acting in violin playing scenes and expressed their liking for his nice character, but the drama failed to grab viewers’ attention due to its slow pacing. Although Jiro has been performing well in “Absolute”, netizens feel that manga adaptations have lost its power. This is also reflected in previous adaptations, “Skip-Beat!” and “Hayate The Combat Butler”, where both suffered in ratings.

TTV/SETTV's "Love Forward" continued its lead with 2.45%.

Nick Chou Afraid To Get Intimate With Female Dancer For New MV

Earlier this week, Nick Chou released the music video to his new song "S.N.G". The video has a smooth, sexy vibe to it, so when it was revealed that the singer was afraid to get intimate with the female dancer, netizens were surprised.

During the video shoot, Nick and the female dancer had to participate in sexy dance moves and get close to each other. The production staff nicknamed this the "Courtship Dance". This proved difficult for the singer, who became nervous around the girl and couldn't touch and embrace her.

"Grow up! The lyrics to the song are like a sexual fantasy," the director told Nick, explaining that this behavior was appropriate for the nature of the song.

Although he knew this, Nick didn't want the female dancer to think he was trying to hit on her. "I was afraid our close, intimate touching would have some sort of significance behind it," he stated.

Jay Chou went to a recording of the talk show, “我們一家訪問人” (Wo Men Yi Jia Fang Wen Ren), a few days ago. He openly spoke his thought about marriage, expressing his desire to get married and have kids by the age of 35. He believed that celebrities often marry late due to focusing on their careers. Celebs also always try to date in secret, making it hard to develop long term relationships like normal people. However, Jay told host Wang Wei-Zhong that he realized now that his “home is the only castle,” and a perfect life is having your most beloved person by your side.

Jay further revealed that his classmates and friends have all been getting married and having kids in these past few years, making him rather envious, “I don’t want work to delay having kids,” while also worrying that there would be a communication gap if he have children later. His mom has never pushed him to get married or have any input on whom he dates, but from previous news reports, his mom seems to get along very well with his current girlfriend Hannah Quinlivan. Jay said he uses his mom as his standard for finding a girlfriend, “(She) at least has to be like my mom who has an artistic quality and has good manners.”

Although Jay used to like big eyes and long-haired girls, he now wishes his future wife to be someone who does house chores, is gentle, affectionate, and understands and admires his work, “My mom fell in love with my dad because of music.”

The show visited Jay’s high school in search of his teenage photos. During the visit, they found his junior classmate who revealed that it was Jay who asked her to help him apply to go on a contest show. In the video, his junior classmate asked Jay to treat her for dinner, which Jay generously promised, “Anytime you go to my restaurant, you just have to say that you’re ‘my junior classmate’ and it’ll be on the house.”

When reportedly she rushed to return to pay her mortgage, her face darkened as she said, "It's not because of that, who says you can't work after marriage?"

Ella and Siu Mei played games with fans. Siu Mei greeted fans in Cantonese. "Hong Kong Friends how are you!" Some fans used muffins to spell out Ella's name as a gift for their newlywed idol. Ella immediately tried it but said, "The muffin is too dry, next year you can add a little more water." Even though Ella was all smiles during the event, when Ella saw reporters she did not force a smile and asked the media not to ask about her marriage. "Today is already my second day in Hong Kong. With the tight schedule and a flu, I don't feel well and can't muster up the energy." When asked whether her husband was displeased that she immediately came to promote in Hong Kong after their wedding, she said, "I still have to work, Hubby didn't really say anything in particular."

Speaking of Ella reportedly had to pay mortgage so she returned to work soon after her wedding. Ella said, "It's not because of that, who says after marriage I can't work?" As for BAD, Ella said that the film has already been released in Taiwan and the response was decent. She said that in the film she had many fight scenes, but her co-star Siu Mei was a nice guy in the film so she was reluctant to hit him. Ella also said that she took a few martial art lessons for the fight scenes. During the shoot when she had time she would study with the instructor. Finally although she was hurt a little her injury was not too severe. Would her husband's heart ache for her? Siu Mei helped out and said, "Her hubby has always known how tough Ella's job is, of course his heart aches!"

Nick Chou prepares to release new album and avoids talking about Elva Hsiao

It’s been almost two years since his debut album and Nick Chou is finally getting ready to release his new album, “S.N.G”, by the end of the month. With all the tracks written by him, he happily exclaimed, “My goal is to be a singer-songwriter!” The idol turned singer-songwriter now avoids talking about his formerly rumored girlfriend Elva Hsiao. He gives his mom all his attention as he says he does not feel the need for a “love relationship” at the moment.

Nick held a mini-concert just the night before to showcase some of the new songs which he spent a year writing. The songs on his new album were selected by his manager out of 200 that he wrote. It will also be the first album that he is releasing under Gold Typhoon (Nick was with Warner Music previously).

When he wrote his new song, “內傷” (Heartache), it happened to be the time when he reportedly broke up with Elva in October 2010. He quickly explained, “I don’t write songs about relationships. I only write about life.” When asked if his heart ached during that time, he replied, “My heart aches because you asked me that.” He then said that he hadn’t seen Elva for the last four months. In regards to the rumors of Elva dating Kai Ko, he commented, “As long as they’re happy.”

His new song, “S.N.G” stands for “Super Nice Girl”, which is a song about finding a girlfriend. But since he was accompanying his mom to fight cancer last year, he said, “After what happened last year, I’m not interested in love relationships. I just want to be with my family.” He admitted that it was a painful year as he felt helpless and was on the verge of breaking down, “The worst has passed. I want her to be proud of my now. As for love, it can’t be forced.”

Mr. Rock Jam Hsiao is transforming himself to become Mr. Jazz. His new album titled, “Mr. Jazz - A Song For You”, will contain eleven classic English tracks that are recorded from a live performance. Jam says, “It is a very soothing album.”

In fact, the songs were recorded during Jam’s birthday celebration event with the fans a few days ago. He prepared and sang a series of Jazz songs at the celebration, which were recorded and compiled into this new concept album. As a birthday present, his record company Warner Music gave him an English dictionary and a saxophone to wish him the best for his career in music. Additionally, Warner Music also held a press conference yesterday to promote the upcoming album.

In related news, Jam is flying to Australia today to get ready for a concert on the 11th and 12th. As a result, he won’t be able to celebrate Mother’s Day with his mom, so he has already given her a big red envelope as a gift!

His originally scheduled performances in America on the 26th, 27th, and 29th have been cancelled due to unpaid expenses from the organizers. His management company made an urgent press release expressing that they had not received the payment for the performances, so the arrangements were cancelled according to the contract. Fans who bought tickets will need to contact the organizers. Nonetheless, fans in the states may get another chance to see Jam later this year as he plans to hold a concert tour, but no dates have been confirmed.

A-Mei Chang will need a miracle to release a new album this year

In the midst of her concert tour, A-Mei Chang returned to Taiwan to endorse some robotic massage chairs. She had just finished holding concerts in London and Malaysia, and she flew back to Taiwan on Sunday. At yesterday's event, she fulfilled her duty as the spokesperson as she praised the massage chair non-stop. She also revealed that she kept one in the backstage during her 8 concert shows at the Taipei Arena. (Photo on right: A-Mei (right) became the spokesperson for a robotic massage chair yesterday, pocketing over 10 million TWD.)

After transferring her management contract to Gold Typhoon, the record company applied for GIO’s funding for a new album that would have A-Mei collaborating with veteran musician Adia, who previously worked on Amit’s album. They’ve been approved for 3 million TWD, but the condition is that the album must be completed by the end of this year. Upon hearing this, A-Mei said, “Where are the songs?” Although she and her record company have started collecting songs, the main delay is caused by her concert tour which started last year September and will run till December 8th, holding at least 57 shows.

Going into the studio and recording new songs is difficult because A-Mei holds one to two concert shows every week. If she is to release a new album this year, her manager said, “It’ll be very hard. We’ll need a miracle.”

[Updated] Cyndi Wang denies breaking up Sonia Sui and Yao Yuan-Hao

Recently, Cyndi Wang and Yao Yuan-Hao’s rumored relationship has been making news headlines in the entertainment section. Although Sonia Sui and Yao Yuan-Hao have been on and off for 8 years, they reportedly got back together again in the latter half of last year, but Cyndi is suspected of being the third person.

Readers told Appledaily that Cyndi was spotted visiting Yao Yuan-Hao’s home several times, driving a white Mercedes-Benz of the model E250. They were seen intimately holding hands and hugging in the underground parking of Yao Yuan-Hao’s home late last year. Cyndi’s manager quickly refuted the claims saying that she drives a black Mercedes-Benz and not a white one. However, Appledaily visited Cyndi’s place two days ago and found the white Mercedes-Benz parked in her parking spot with the same license plate as the one seen at Yao Yuan-Hao’s garage.

Additionally, some recognized the same kind of plates that showed up in dessert photos on both Cyndi’s and Sonia’s Facebook, which is found in Yao Yuan-Hao’s home.

Cyndi posted a photo of a cake she made (left) which was presented on the same kind of plate that appeared in Sonia's photo (right).

After dominating the entertainment news section for a week, Cyndi responded to the media for the first time today. Cyndi admitted that she briefly dated Yao Yuan-Hao back in May of last year after Sonia and Yao Yuan-Hao broke up. In August, she backed down when Sonia and Yao Yuan-Hao got back together. Cyndi cried, “I’m not the third person!” She then added, “I knew that they wanted to get back together in August of last year, so I told myself that I must pull my heart back.”

Cyndi and Yao Yuan-Hao were spotted at Kenting together last year July.

Cyndi explained that Yao Yuan-Hao told her that he broke up with Sonia in February. Thus, they started keeping in touch again. However, readers saw them together last year. Cyndi said, “I was once hurt by a third person, so I definitely wouldn’t allow myself to become the third person of someone else’s relationship! Not that I didn’t want to say anything. There are some things that I cannot say.” -- she was referring to the fact that Sonia did not announce her break up with Yao Yuan-Hao until last Thursday. She admitted going to Yao Yuan-Hao’s home, “The photo with the decorative plate was from May of last year. My friends and I were making desserts at his home.” She also admitted to owning a white Mercedes, but because she often drives the black one, that’s why her manager thought that she only had a black one.

When the media asked if Cyndi was still dating Yao Yuan-Hao, her manager quickly answered, “Not anymore,” and emphasized that Cyndi and Yao Yuan-Hao were not yet in a love relationship in February. Yao Yuan-Hao’s management company expressed that he was single between May and August last year, so he never cheated. They further advised that Yao Yuan-Hao had not seen Sonia for a month and a half, and the two had decided to break up back in February. The company stated that Yao Yuan-Hao and Cyndi are just friends and are not dating.

After the press conference, Appledaily asked Cyndi again whether she was still dating Yao Yuan-Hao or not. Cyndi responded, “I hope that my future boyfriend will be someone with broad shoulders,” hinting that Yao Yuan-Hao is irresponsible. Yao Yuan-Hao’s management company expressed, “It’s not that Yao Yuan-Hao does not have broad shoulders, he is very straightforward. Sometimes speaking out may not be the best thing for everyone. Staying silent is to protect each other.”

Sonia admitted that she had broken up with Yao Yuan-Hao at the LV grand opening event last week.

May 2012
- After getting back together again for 8 months, Sonia finally admitted their break up.
- last straw: things didn’t work out in addition to having a third person in their relationship.

[Update 5/9/2012] Yao Yuan-Hao finally responded to the media with a press release after the news reports about his relationships have gone on for a week. Besides “apologizing to everyone who has been concerned about his relationships,” he also apologized to Cyndi and Sonia. He said, “In regards to Sonia telling the media that I am the man whom she loved most, I thank her very much. I also want to thank her for accompanying my family to dinners. She is also the most important person in my life.” He emphasized that he was just a normal person, “I’m just the same as everyone else. We’ve had happy times, times when we got upset, and have quarreled before, but I never thought of hurting anyone.”

Yao Yuan-Hao (left) and Sonia Sui dated for 8 years.

Many felt that his new relationship with Cyndi came “too soon” after breaking up with Sonia, causing him to be suspected of cheating. Yao Yuan-Hao responded apologetically, “The time when I became single last year and when I was reflecting on the problems of my relationship, I was careless about how others around me felt. Due to my immatureness, I hurt them.”

In regards to his manager defending him and telling the media that he was single when he started dating Cyndi, he replied, “I won’t use my status of being single as an excuse for what I’ve done. But I will learn from this to become more mature. In every relationship, a man should always take full responsibility.”
