Yao Yuan Hao does not mind co-acting with ex-girlfriend Sonia Sui

The Taiwanese actor said that he is open to the idea of acting alongside his ex-girlfriend Sonia Sui in the future

Taiwanese actor Yao Yuan Hao revealed that his relationship with girlfriend Cyndi Wang is stable and he does not mind acting with ex-girlfriend Sonia Sui in the future.

Following his high-profiled separation from ex-girlfriend Sonia in May last year, Yuan Hao and Taiwanese singer-actor Cyndi Wang's rekindled romance made headlines in November. As Cyndi was believed to be the third party in Sonia and Yuan Hao's relationship, the pair has been criticised for failing to spare a thought for Sonia's feelings, and showing off their bliss and dating openly.

Attending the private screening for his upcoming drama The Red Riding Hood and The Small Wolf yesterday, Yuan Hao told reporters that he had insomnia the night before because he was too nervous.

After a long break from the acting scene, Yuan Hao confessed that he was worried the audience would have forgot about him.

As Yuan Hao's character in his new show is said to be a coward, the actor admitted yesterday that he thinks he is also a 'coward' in reality.

When asked if his remark was made with reference to his actions towards Sonia, Yuan Hao claimed that he was joking and revealed that his relationship with Cyndi is at a stable stage.

He also said that he would not restrict Cyndi from visiting him during filming and does not mind co-acting with her if there is a chance in the future.

When reporters asked if this applies to his ex-girlfriend Sonia, an awkward Yuan Hao replied that he is open to the idea of working with her in the future as well.

Rainie Yang and Prince comment on their dating rumours

The artistes recently commented on their microblogs for the first time after reports of the pair's Hawaii vacation surfaced

Rumoured lovers Rainie Yang and Prince have commented on their dating rumours on their microblogs for the first time after reports of their trip to Hawaii surfaced.

The pair was spotted alone at the airport in Hawaii last week, but their manager claimed that they were there with a group of friends.

Rainie recently pleaded with fans to stop speculating about her romance with Prince. "For my sake, please be a silent observer and audience instead of commenting further," she wrote on her microblog.

Prince, who is a member of Taiwanese boy band JPM, also posted an ambiguous comment on his microblog, "No matter what people say, one day I will make you understand: never give up."

Fans interpreted it as Prince's way of encouraging the actress and sharing her burden as she faces huge pressure after their relationship had been exposed.

According to the Taiwanese media, Prince had initially invited his parents on the trip, but they turned him down because they were afraid that the couple would not be able to fully enjoy themselves if they had tagged along.

Netizens also noted that while the pair did not take any photos together during the vacation, Rainie and Prince were wearing the same sunglasses and posed against a similar background in their individual shots posted on their respective microblogs.

However, Rainie's manager once again emphasised that the two had gone to Hawaii with other friends.
Prince's manager also said, "They are just friends, please don't think too much into it."

JJ Lin calls Charlene Choi a "lucky star"

Singer JJ Lin is soon to release his tenth album . Yesterday afternoon at the album press conference, JJ Lin thanked his friends for accompanying him for the past ten years. In particular those who were involved in the album, Mayday's Ashin, Ah Sa Charlene Choi, and movie director Chang Jung Chi who have all crossed boundaries to work together and made JJ Lin feel greatly satisfied.

But the biggest surprise at the press conference was his mother who specially flew from Singapore to Taiwan to attend, and even brought bird's nest and JJ's childhood homework punishment stick, putting JJ in a good mood and making him laugh. "Mom really covered it up well. I was with family to celebrate the Chinese New Year and she did not reveal her intentions in the least bit. Yesterday she said, I have arrived at the hotel. I thought she went to a hotel to visit friends, I never thought that she had already arrived in Taipei!" JJ said. The stick was also unforgettable for JJ. "When I was young, mom would use the stick to supervise us. My greatest impression was mom would definitely hit me when I told lies."

Nowadays, the biggest worry his mom has is JJ Lin's love life. "I am someone who is very stubborn about relationships, so I have to be very transparent in facing my own emotions. But right now I really do not have a girlfriend!" JJ said. To dodge questions about relationships, he even used his mom as an excuse. "Mom sometimes asks me, do you have a girlfriend right now?" he said. But JJ helplessly says, "I have not found the right person yet, maybe the time has not arrived yet." At the press conference, JJ experienced Taiwan's sky lantern blessing ceremony, using calligraphy to write a wish on a lantern. As it was his first time writing calligraphy, he directly said it was very difficult.

He also revealed that he worked with Ah Sa again this time because he sees her as a "lucky star." He said that he was lost when he released his third and fourth albums because for a time, he was too greedy and wanted to try all kinds of music styles. The public reaction was poor and as a result, his career became stagnant. It was not until he met Ah Sa and sang the duet which was hugely popular, did he find where his style stands. "Just like the previous time I worked with Ah Sa, our chemistry was very good. Everyone also liked the results a lot afterwards. So when the company proposed a collaboration, this idea for a movie, we all discussed about the female lead role. Afterwards, I thought Ah Sa is very well-suited to play the role in the movie, with the faint feeling of a lover."

Vic Chou : From Idol to actual strength, it's your own decision to make

HOME held a grand press conference and media test screening on 18th Feb. The main cast from the drama Vic Chou (Zaizai), Janine Chang, Li Li Ren, Lego Li and other actors all attended. A joint production by the two shores, this epic drama, HOME was in the making for 4 years with an investment of NTD150 million, and will be broadcast on the MOD channel 49 of NextTV starting 19th Feb at 8.00pm Mon-Fri. The highlight of great interest is that this is Zaizai's first war drama.

From F4 till Zhou Yumin (Vic Chou), Zaizai has used his acting skills to prove that "he is not just an idol".

After being nominated in the Golden Bell Awards, progressively, his acting skills have become more exquisite and affirmation received from the veterans of the same drama. In the latest production HOME, Zaizai acted the character of Su Tai Ying, with very rich emotional levels. From his eyes, one can clearly discover Vic Chou's growth in terms of acting.

Zaizai : "HOME is a historical production of a certain era, to be able to polish up for the role, the only way is to rely on immersing in it."

After the filming, and while Zaizai was taking a shower, he could see how he looked in the mirror, still with the brows deeply etched in a frown. Many people felt that it was because he could not shed off the character in the drama. But he felt that there was a kind of mood, a kind that needs personal space to be able to recover back the mood.

In the filming process, what left an indelible impression was "Li Li Ren-ge's tears". There was great hardship filming on foreign soil, and added on his yearnings for his family, this had caused Li Ren-ge to shed manly tears. Zaizai, who would not easily shed tears, saw this scene and said this represented "the greatness of a man".

During filming, from the directors to the veterans, they would often praise Zaizai, "eye expressions as being very spot on, like Tony Leung..." but Zaizai did not wish to be the shadow of anyone, hence he would convert these praises as the motivating force to step forward. He wanted to accumulate experience from every show... "from idol to solid strength, it is for one to decide", the Zaizai now already understands which of the performances would be the genuine "works", and HOME is a drama that "had to be acted out with great pain, but watched with great satisfaction".

And Bowie got what she wanted. Her loved ones threw her a big surprise in advance when she went to host a Chinese New Year special event with her father, famous Hong Kong veteran artiste Eric Tsang in Wynn Hotel, Las Vegas on Wednesday.

She expressed, "All of you have arranged so much for me before I can think of anything special for my 40th birthday. I'll definitely remember this party, thank you!"

Although her father was drunk and fell asleep throughout the entire process, Bowie chirped, "I feel lucky to get to celebrate with my dear ones. It's my best birthday ever."

Although the 31-year-old was delighted when a tourist complimented her for looking 'not plump at all' and having a face that is 'not as big as it looks on TV', her mood was dampened when her aunt-in-law jokingly asked if she put on weight again. She cried, 'No! I clearly slimmed down.'

Jolin Tsai goes Dutch with boyfriend

The Taiwanese songstress spent the first day of the Chinese New Year with her boyfriend

Taiwanese pop princess Jolin Tsai and boyfriend Vivian Dawson were spotted with two male companions at an American restaurant in Taipei on Sunday afternoon. The songstress, who was previously reported to have earned over NT$740 million (approximately S$30 million) last year, went Dutch with the three guys for the meal.

When asked about this incident, Jolin's manager commented that the singer usually pays for the meal and that the group went Dutch this time because their foreigner friends were 'used to' the culture of splitting the bill.

Although the restaurant guests and service crew threw curious glances at the couple from time to time, Vivian and his friends were seen enjoying their conversation while Jolin sat beside him, whispering to her boyfriend occasionally.

In contrast to the table full of food ordered by the guys, Jolin only had a bowl of French onion soup. The songstress apparently spoke to Vivian's friends in English throughout the gathering and the group left the restaurant separately at around 7pm.

Taiwanese artiste Jacky Chu suspected of drug abuse

Police arrested the ex-boyband member after drugs were found on him at a New Year party yesterday

Taiwanese artiste Jacky Chu was arrested on suspicions of taking drugs at a New Year party yesterday.

According to the Taiwanese media, the former member of Taiwanese boy band 183 Club threw a Lunar New Year house party in Taiwan yesterday midnight.

A packet of marijuana reportedly dropped out of Jacky's pocket when the police arrived at the party after receiving complaints from the neighbours that they were making too much noise.

The police then found another six grams of marijuana after searching the place thoroughly. Jacky and the house owner were immediately brought to the police station for further investigations.

Jacky however claimed that he was innocent, 'I didn't take drugs at all. The drugs aren't mine; they belong to the house's owner.'

The 33-year-old who comes from a wealthy family was released on a NT$30,000 (approximately S$1300) bail yesterday.

Sun Derong, former manager of Jacky, expressed his disappointment after hearing the news. 'If Jacky really took drugs, he should stay home and be a young master instead of being an artiste,' he said sarcastically.

Ella Chen to spend Lunar New Year in Malaysia

The Taiwanese singer will be visiting her husband's hometown for the first time since their marriage

Ella Chen, member of Taiwanese girl group S.H.E, revealed that she will be visiting her husband's family in Malaysia during the upcoming Lunar New Year.

The singer, who got married to husband Alvin Lai last May, happily told reporters that she is looking forward to the trip. 'I am very excited, because the food there is really good -- especially my mother-in-law's homemade Yong Tau Foo.'

Ella will visit her family in Ping Tung first, before meeting her husband in Malaysia on the third day of the Lunar New Year.

This marks Ella's first visit to her husband's hometown since the couple tied the knot. She added that her schedule in Malaysia is simple: eat non-stop.

Speaking to reporters about her sister-in-law who has recently given birth to a pair of twins, the 31-year-old said that she cannot wait to arrive in Malaysia to babysit the kids.

When asked if she plans to start her own family soon, Ella replied, 'There's no plan for kids this year.'

Since S.H.E's reunion last year, the girls have been earning quite a bit of income from their continuous work activities.

Ella, who will be giving out red packets for the first time during the Lunar New Year, said that she and her husband will each be distributing red packets separately. However, she was 'warned' by Alvin not to be too generous.

'He told me to follow his example and put whatever amount that he puts in each red packet,' Ella said.

Lin Chi-Ling breaks up with rumoured boyfriend

The Taiwanese model-actress publically announced her single status for the first time at her new movie's press conference

Lin Chi-Ling finally comes clean on her relationship with longtime rumoured boyfriend, Taiwanese businessman Qiu Shi Kai when she attended the press conference for her new movie, 101st Marriage Proposal in Shanghai recently.

Asked about her present relationship status with Shi Kai, the model-actress commented openly, "There's no such relationship right now. I am single."

The 38-year-old denied being surrounded by suitors and mentioned she did not "sense anyone acting on it".

Chi-Ling also expressed she has more courage to pursue love now and will take the initiative to declare her love if she meets someone she admires.

Although the pair has never confessed their romance, Chi-Ling's on-off relationship with Shi Kai has been widely speculated ever since they were romantically linked in 2005. Marriage rumours ignited after the Taiwanese model-actress admitted she went house hunting with Shi Kai in Shanghai last year.

On the other hand, tabloids suggested the couple broke up recently due to Shi Kai's "boring personality" and he was annoyed with Chi-Ling for constantly comparing him with former boyfriend, singer-actor Jerry Yan.

Vic Chou suffered from depression due to new drama

The Taiwanese heartthrob could not withdraw himself from his character and got into a bout of depression

Vic Chou shared his struggles with depression at the promotional event of his new drama series, Home alongside co-star Janine Chang.

Portraying a solemn military officer during the Second Sino-Japanese War in the 1940s, the singer-actor got too engaged in his character while filming in 2011 and suffered from depression as a result.

Vic kept a distance from everyone, and suffered a drastic weight loss to 64kg due to insomnia and a lack of appetite. He would also isolate himself at home during filming breaks.

The 31-year-old only recovered from his illness after the production crew wrapped up filming fifteen months later. He has since resumed his usual activities and also gained weight to 73kg currently.

"I'm perfectly normal right now," he assured.

Meanwhile, the heartthrob remained secretive on his current love life. He has yet to confess on his relationship with model-actress Reen Yu even though they were photographed behaving intimately at Vic's apartment during New Year's Eve.

Vic added, "I prefer to keep things personal. I have no plans for the future, let nature take its course."

A-Mei brings boyfriend along company retreat

The Queen of Mandopop sponsored the retreat to Phuket herself

To reward her staff's hard work in the past year, Taiwanese songstress A-Mei sponsored her company retreat to Phuket where they reportedly booked three garden villas with private pools. The five-day vacation reportedly cost more than a million Taiwan dollars (approximately S$42,000) in total, with the entourage consisting of 24 employees and friends, including the singer's bartender boyfriend, Sam.

During the holiday, A-Mei apparently 'ordered' all mobile phones to be put away while they were having meals. As "punishment," the people who broke the rule had to foot the bill.

'This trip is to relax our minds. Let's not think about work,' said the Mandopop diva, who indulged in the rare opportunity to sleep at regular hours.

Sources revealed that on the night before the group returned to Taiwan, they organized a 'talent competition' where A-Mei and Sam teamed up and performed a Gangnam Style couple dance. Though the lovebirds were jeered by their friends, they enjoyed the romance of being able to interact without inhibitions.

Chen Bo Lin dismisses dating rumours with co-star

The Taiwanese actor allegedly has been secretly dating his new movie co-star for a year long

Chen Bo Lin, who rose to fame for his onscreen heartthrob image in idol drama In Time With You, sparked dating rumours after his new movie co-star, Ting Xuan was spotting making frequent visits to the former's apartment recently. Media reports suggested the lovebirds have secretly developed a relationship one year ago.

The Taiwanese actor immediately denied this dating rumour online yesterday, claiming that they are just good friends, and have only known each other for ten months.

'We (Bo Lin and co-stars Ting Xuan, Jeff, Ralf) get along very well and will meet up for gatherings regularly,' he added.

Self-proclaimed to be a low-key artiste, Bo Lin expressed, 'I don't see the need to stir news in order to boost my popularity. It's the media who is fond of doing so.'

Rumour has it that it was love at first sight for the duo after they met on the set of Bo Lin's new movie Machi Action. The couple allegedly kept their relationship under wraps and restricted their dates to the 30-year-old actor's apartment.

Ting Xuan used to work as a trainee at the China Airlines VIP Lounge. Taiwanese artistes Ella Chen and Mike He were charmed by her attractive looks and recommended the 23-year-old to enter the entertainment industry.

Anthony Wong on Show Luo: He's 'poisoned'

The Hong Kong actor berated Show Luo for repeatedly apologising on his fans' behalf

The verbal disputes between Hong Kong artiste Anthony Wong and the fans of Taiwanese singer Show Luo continues on after the former indirectly insinuated that Show is a 'nobody'. Recently, the veteran actor claimed that Show's repeated apologies, made on his fans' behalf, was the main reason behind his dissatisfaction towards the singer.

Berated that the singer has been 'poisoned', the straight-forward Anthony once again expressed his frustrations via his microblog last weekend. He wrote: 'Since you [Show] admitted that they are your fans and that their words are overly harsh, then why are you only apologising for them and not asking them to say sorry!'

Adding that Show ought to ask his fans to stop their rude and unreasonable 'harassment', he continued, 'His fans can't stop '˜scolding' me and yet he keeps wishing to make peace. This makes me think that he's not being silly, but that he is '˜poisoned' [by his fans]!'

Although there is no apparent bad blood between the two artistes, the abuse that the Hong Kong actor has been receiving from Show's fans incurred his wrath and he has taken to his microblog to '˜rant' on several occasions.

Barbie Hsu goes shopping in baggy clothes

The Taiwanese actress once again dismissed pregnancy rumours when she was spotted shopping in baggy clothes with her husband yesterday

Barbie Hsu was spotted in baggy clothing while shopping for household products with her husband on Sunday, and her choice of outfit further fuelled pregnancy speculations.

The Taiwanese actress recently dismissed all rumours through her microblog, commenting that she will announce personally if there is any good news. However, speculations resurfaced after she missed Taiwanese film and television tycoon Yang Deng Kui's memorial session which was held recently.

When asked by reporters if she is expecting, the 36-year-old replied with a black face that she had already clarified on her microblog. She once again emphasised, 'If there is any big news I will announce it myself.'

Persistent reporters quizzed Barbie on her absence at benefactor Yang Deng Kui's memorial session and the actress asked to be excused and left the scene hurriedly with her husband.

Commenting on the issue, Barbie's mother said, 'Barbie lost two fathers within a short period of time, she hopes that Yang Deng Kui will always live in her heart. If she had attended his memorial session, she is admitting that he has left this world forever.'
